EXPERIENCE
Vicki Aitken is an experienced Sport Psychology Consultant / Mental
Skills Coach with over 13 years experience. Vicki Aitken has primarily
specialised in the provision of high quality service to golfers and caddies
of all levels but also has extensive experience in tennis and has worked
with race car driving, snowboarding, squash, remote control aerobatics,
rugby referees, cricket and swimming.
Vicki Aitken brings a level of personal experience to her role as a Sport
Psychology Consultant / Mental Skills Coach that sets her apart from
other consultants / coaches. Vicki Aitken was a provincial representative
amateur golfer in her native New Zealand at both junior and senior level which
has enabled her to understand people's goals and objectives from both a
player and a consultant's perspective. In addition, Vicki Aitken has
worked with over 56 players on the Ladies European Tour for 7 years from
2001 to 2007 inclusive. She has successfully
applied this insider knowledge to assisting players from a variety of
sports increase their mental toughness and improve their performances.
As an experienced Sport Psychology Consultant Vicki Aitken understands
the differences in demands facing sports people at club level, elite
amateur and professional tour level.

from 2001 to end of 2007.
•Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (University of Auckland)
•Post Graduate Diploma in Sport Psychology (University of Otago)
•Masters of Physical Education degree in Sport Psychology (University
of Otago).
• Vicki has been involved with golf for over 22 years
• Has played at the competitive amateur level
• Has been working as a sport psychology consultant for over 12 years
• Member of Sport and Exercise Sciences New Zealand
• Member of the British Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences (BASES)
• BASES Re-Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist in psychology (scientific support until 30 Sept 2014).
• Writes a regular golf psychology column for the New Zealand Golf Magazine since 2000
• Writes a regular sport psychology column for the New Zealand Multisport and Triathlete Magazine
• Co-author with Dr. Dan Weigand of the book "Caddy–Talk: Psychology of Being a Great Golf Caddy"
• The sport psychology service provider to New Zealand Golf
• The sport psychology service provider to New Zealand Professional Golfers' Association (NZPGA)
• Vicki has worked individually with over 56 players on the LET
as well as professionals on the European Tour, European Seniors Tour, Challenge Tour, Euro Pro Tour,
Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour, the US LPGA, US Futures
Tour, SAS Masters Tour as well as many elite through to club level amateurs in NZ,
UK and Switzerland.
